Kingston, NY -- 5/5/2009 — Rural Ulster Preservation Company (RUPCO) Executive Director Kevin O’Connor saluted Roy Kozlowski last week for his 15 years of dedicated service as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Ulster County agency’s nine different properties. Saying that such longevity in such a difficult position was really remarkable, O’Connor lauded Kozlowski’s accomplishments.
“Maintaining the Stuyvesant Hotel and the Kirkland Hotel inside and out are big jobs in and of themselves, but Roy supervises not only those two, but also 7 other residential properties, all of which are kept in pristine condition,” said O’Connor. The RUPCO Executive went on to note that Kozlowski doesn’t have a huge staff but he does have a huge commitment. “Roy takes a real sense of ownership with these properties and it really shows. He treats them as if they were his own – or better and that sort of professionalism is rare these days.”
Theresa Walsh, RUPCO’s Director of Property management agreed. “He’s got to be one of the best and most incredibly knowledgeable maintenance people I’ve ever met,” she said. “What’s more, he’s warm, funny and respectful, all at the same time. Our residents love him, as do his fellow staff members. We’re really lucky to have him.”
Kozlowski oversees both indoor and outdoor maintenance of 268 apartment units, commercial and office spaces, and a variety of other sorts of property owned or operated by RUPCO, whose mission is to develop, implement and support affordable housing and housing choice opportunities for residents of Ulster County and is a leading agency in the field of housing and community development. RUPCO takes a broad approach to housing and community development and creates employment for more than 30 staffers and project work for as many as 70 contractors each year.
