The film was shot in the 1950’s by Kirkland Hotel and Dutch Rathskeller proprietors Max and Ruth Brugmann and shows the Kirkland Hotel in all its glory. The film provides a glimpse into the past showcasing the Kirkland Hotel, the Dutch Rathskeller Restaurant, the staff and the special events that were held there. Max and Ruth Brugmann’s children, Charlotte Brugmann, Judith Brugmann-Krein and John Brugmann were in attendance, along with other members of the Brugmann family were in attendance to answers questions, share historical and personal memories of the Kirkland Hotel, and help RUPCO kick off the next era of the Kirkland.

The event is made possible through the generosity of The Ellenbogen Group, Inc. and their company The Seven21 Media Center, which opened in July 2006. The Ellenbogen Group, Inc. provided film transfer and restoration for this event and The Seven21 Media Center television studio provided a state of the art location for the film viewing.
