Rural Ulster Preservation Company (RUPCO) – NeighborWorks AmeriCorps VISTA

Rural Ulster Preservation Company www.rupco.org, a not-for-profit affordable housing and neighborhood reinvestment agency and NeighborWorks America Chartered Member located in Kingston, NY in the mid-Hudson Valley, is recruiting 1 (one) full-time NeighborWorks AmeriCorps VISTA position for the 2011-2012 program year. Ideal candidates will:

• have initiative
• be dedicated
• be flexible
• have some college experience
• be comfortable working in diverse communities
• have strong verbal and written skills
• be computer literate
• be comfortable with public speaking

This VISTA position will focus on community development administration related to; 1) a program for community outreach and marketing for sustainability and green initiatives including energy efficiency (60%); 2) RUPCO green real estate development (20%), and; 3) Green Organization Certification support (20%.)

NeighborWorks AmeriCorps VISTA's will receive a $432 bi-weekly stipend, a $5,550 education award, and professional development and training opportunities. VISTA's must attend a Pre-Service Orientation August 16-19th and begin service August 22nd.
